CLUBWOMAN SCHOLARSHIP
This fund is available to all GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s
Club members who belong to a per capita club and who need additional education
or training in order to join the work force as a means of providing or helping
to provide for themselves and/or their families.
Applicants must be recommended to the GFWC/Ohio Federation of
Women’s Clubs Scholarship Board of Trustees and sponsored by a per capita, dues
paying club. The sponsoring club is
required to compile the necessary materials listed on the application and
forward them in one (1) envelope to the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs
Scholarship Board of Trustees Chairman.
DEADLINE: MARCH 1 (in order for the
application to be considered).
It is the responsibility of the District Scholarship Trustee,
in liaison with the applicant and the sponsoring club, to ascertain student
status.
One scholarship will be given annually. The amount to be given will be determined by
the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Scholarship Board of Trustees. A club may ONLY sponsor one (1)
candidate for this scholarship annually.
The scholarship recipient will be notified by the Chairman of
the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Board of Trustees following the
Annual Meeting (Convention) of the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs. The recipient must notify the GFWC/Ohio
Federation of Women’s Clubs Scholarship Board of Trustees Chairman by June 30
of her decision to accept or reject the
scholarship.
A check in the amount of the scholarship will be mailed
directly to the recipient by the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs
Treasurer by August 1.
DIRECTIONS
FOR CLUB

A club may only sponsor ONE candidate per scholarship per
year.

By March 1st, the sponsoring club should collect
all required documents as listed in these instructions and mail the completed
file in ONE envelope to the Chairman of the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs
Scholarship Board of Trustees (see above listing).

Any applications postmarked later than March 1st will
be disqualified.

Omission of any required materials will disqualify the
applicant.
·
Please use proper form for the appropriate scholarship.
·
The club should make sure that the applicant as well as the
club representative has signed the application.
