Clubwoman Scholarship
The GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs Clubwoman Scholarship is available ONLY to members of clubs federated in the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs. It is for those who need additional education or training in order to join the work force or to help to provide for themselves and/or their families. One scholarship will be given annually, the amount not to exceed $1,000.
Required Material for Application
1.
Statement from
applicant regarding purpose of application.
2.
Educational and
employment history of applicant.
3.
Summary of
community service activities and leadership roles.
4.
Educational
plans: where, when, how long, have you been accepted in the program?
5.
Two letters of
recommendation
a.
one from a
community leader
b.
one from the sponsoring club endorsing the applicant and
explaining the reasons why this applicant should be selected.
6.
Complete the OFFICIAL 2006-2008 GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs
Application form plus the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs
Scholarship Supplemental Questionnaire.

Carefully Follow
These Directions
A club may sponsor one
candidate per scholarship, per year.
By March 1, the sponsoring
club should collect all required documents as listed in these instructions and
mail the completed file in ONE envelope to the Chairman of the GFWC/Ohio
Federation of Women's Clubs Scholarship Board of Trustees (Lin Wilken).

Any application postmarked later than March 1 will be
disqualified.
Omission of any required materials will disqualify the
applicant.
Notification of Winning Scholarship
Immediately
following the OFWC Annual Convention, the Board of Trustees will notify those
students receiving grants, their sponsoring club presidents, and the designated
special correspondent. Checks will be
mailed by the OFWC Treasurer no later than August 1 to those receiving
grants. Check are made payable to the
school of enrollment.
