Fundraising for your club, OFWC, and GFWC is vital. Members should explore innovative ways to raise the necessary funds for your clubs to continue their volunteer efforts in their communities and to support OFWC and GFWC. Special projects can be developed to pay a portion of member’s club dues, to help with delegate expenses (“Dollars for Delegates”), assist with the cost of members attending any federation function, to purchase club or individual memorial bricks or pavers or to be designated for other special activities.

  • CLUBS:  When raising money for local clubs consider “Bakeless” bake sales, regular bake sales, raffles, dinners, no brunch brunch, home tours, name card holders, basket raffles, Bingo games, car washes, cookbooks, wine tasting, picture puzzles, jewelry exchange, walk-a-thons, style shows, card parties, setting up booths at local fairs, Putt-Putt Fund Raiser, selling frozen pies, Scrapbooking Day etc. Many dealers such as Premier Jewelry, Pampered Chef, and Avon will assist you with fundraisers.

·       OFWC:  When raising money for OFWC club members should encourage all members to purchase;

                2010-2012 ADMINISTRATION PINS ……………………………………$3.00

                2010-2012 JUNIOR ADMINISTRATION PINS ……  …………………    $3.00

                GFWC LICENSE PLATE HOLDER ……… ……………………………. .$5.00

To help with the funds needed to maintain the Memorial Shrine club members should purchase and sell the Cat’s Meows Memorial Shrine replicas and engraved bricks and pavers for the Memorial Shrine Memorial Walkway. Club members need to raise the money to construct a winding pathway of engraved, clay bricks and limestone pavers, leading from the west side of the main Shrine building and, later, a second pathway leading east towards the President’s Grove. This pathway, to be called “The Memorial Walkway,” will be laid with individual, Ohio-made, engraved pavers inscribed with names of GFWC/OFWC clubs, individual members, former and present club presidents, veterans, military personnel, family members and anyone else wishing to remember and honor loved ones living or deceased.

Each club should purchase the initial paver with the club's name and federated date on it, and then members purchase their own inscribed brick or paver to be placed around the club paver. (See sample grouping following order blank) Passing the hat at a club function could purchase the club paver or holding a paperback or magazine sale at club functions, holding a fifty-fifty drawing at a few club functions, or having members save and donate their change.

Three sizes of pavers are available:

4” x 8” (brick sized)

8” x 8” paver

8” x 12” paver

12 “x 12’ paver (special order)

Cat’s Meow replicas of the Memorial Shrine

can be purchased at a cost of $15.00. These replicas can be used as gifts for

speakers, recognition awards or as collectibles.

The Ohio General Assembly authorized construction of the 32-foot by 24-foot sandstone chapel-like structure in 1945 as World War II drew to a close.  In cooperation with the Forestry Division of the State of Ohio, selection was made in one of the most scenic spots adjacent to Mohican Forest, located on State Route 97, just west of its intersection with State Route 3, three miles south of Loudonville.  The Ohio Memorial Forest Shrine, an ongoing project of the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women's Clubs, was dedicated on April 27, 1947, as Ohio’s War Dead Memorial.
